The difference typically is a result of "personalized results" tailored to your specific Google user, when you're logged in. However, the fact that the old page hasn't resolved yet when you're logged in suggests the data is being called from an older server that hasn't undergone the update you're seeing when you're logged out yet (Google servers update at different times geographically).

I would try signing in with different Google accounts, and conducting the search from different browsers and see what kind of results you get.

I'm experiencing something really weird - I'm getting different search results in Google based on whether I'm logged in or out of my Google account.

Does Google somehow "cache" searches when you're logged in (maybe for data mining purposes?) I think it's really strange that I'm getting different search results when I'm logged in vs. logged out of my Google account.

Specifically, I recently setup a 301 redirect on one of my pages. If I'm logged out of Google, and search for the keyword phrase specific to that page, it shows up as the #1 result on the new page. However, if I log into Google, it shows up as the #4 result, and it still shows the old web page.

Any ideas?
